The process of cold-forging bestows deep learning of yourself and metal as a material. Each calculated blow of the hammer moves the metal, one misguided blow, and another to correct it. Each ding of a hit signals when the metal has had enough and needs re-annealing, one too many and it will crack. Each swing of the arm brings you closer to your physical limit; spacing the work out and taking care of your body is critical.
This comfortably fitted and restrictive form wraps around the finger, hugs the palm, twists to lie on the wrist, and curves around, ending at a sharp point, aimed at the median artery in the forearm. The tip of the middle finger rests in the “bowl” of this elongated spoon. Because of leverage, when the finger is pushed forward, the point sinks into the wearer's skin.
Is it still true that “the only way out is through” if forward motion inflicts pain?
Unsure
